January 2014

Thursday January 30th   – Indoor Climbing

A climbing session at Writhlington Sports Centre Midsomer Norton. Depart Warminster 18:00 but just turn up when you can, session ends at 22:00. Organiser Darren. 

February 2014

Saturday February 1st  – Geo Cache walk

A route around the Warminster and surrounds on a Geo-cache trail. Bring gps and munchies for the trail. Organiser Sue.

Sunday February 2nd   – Severn Bore

Sunday is one of those rarities and 5* bore in daylight and on a weekend. Anyone can do it (anticipation is actually better than the real thing!) and we just restrict you to inflatable, sea kayak, kayak, surf board depending upon your skill. We will leave Warminster early for an 08:30 bore run. Back for lunchtime. Organiser Dave.

Sunday February 9th   – Mine Trip

Another of miner Murtie's mine trips. A trip around one of the areas disused Bath stone mines. Adventure, history and a good walk all in one. It is very easy so suitable for all including dogs, basically just a good walk with no climbing, or crawling involved. Organiser Steve.

Thursday February 20th   – Indoor Climbing

Saturday February 22nd   – Easy Cave

An easy level dry cave suitable for complete beginners on. Probably Sidcut Swallet the home of the infamous lobster pot. Depart Warminster about 08:30. Organiser Dave

March 2014

Saturday March 1st   – Ballistics

Another politically incorrect session using all manners of ballistics devices from air rfiles, CO2 pistols, serious potatoe guns and of course whatever Bill dreams up. Bring your own weapons or if you have none there will be plenty for all. Start at the waste ground next to the recycling centre 10:30. Organiser Bill.

Sunday March 2nd   – Severn Bore

If the Feb session gets a problem we have a plan B. Sunday is one of those rarities and 4* bore in daylight and on a weekend. A session at Warminster pool to introduce kayaking, practise your rolls or just muck about. We share the cost of hiring the pool between the attendees. So turn up and make it cheaper for everyone. Session starts 17:00 but turn up round the back of Warminster sports centre 16:30 to help unload. Organiser Bill.

A survival skills and camp out session for little and big kids. Learn bush craft and how to create your own camp out. Organiser Darren.

Sunday May 11th  – Archery

Come down to Brokers wood to get an introduction to Archery as practised by Darren Oram. You will have to pay a few pounds as entry fee to Brokers wood but you can spend the whole day there if you wish. Organiser Darren.

Saturday-Monday May 24-26 Surfing

Another one of our famous trips to a North Devon surfing location. Come for the day or camp/caravan and make a long weekend of it. The trip is suitable for all from complete beginners to cool surfer dudes! Try out body boarding, long boarding and surf kayaking. Organiser Dave.

June 2014

Friday/Saturday/SundayJune 6/7/8th  – N. Wales Weekend

A trip to North Wales to knock off one of the mountains, the difficulty will be tailored to who comes, so expert mountain walkers to family groups are most welcome. Camp out. Organiser Rupert.

Friday June 13th  – Fun on the Avon

A kayak and canoe session for all, complete beginners upwards, as long as the weather is nice a fun session on the Avon at Bradford on Avon followed by a barbeque. Organiser Dave.

Thursday 26th - Deathslide

Another cannot be missed zip wire over a quarry lake followed by bbq. See web site for videos. Seriously good fun,m suitable for all who can swim and hold their own weight on a zip wire bar. Organiser Bill.

Saturday 5th July - Outdoor Climbing

An outdoor climbing session at Vallis vale, includes abseiling and top rope climbing and is suitable for all. Bring a picnic and have fun. Organiser Dave.

Friday 18th July - Swildons Caving

Another trip to Swildons cave, probably the most beautiful cave we visit. It's a wet cave so you will need a wet suit and caving suit both available from the WASC supplies. Suitable for all including children as long as they have good stamina. Depart Warminster about 18:30 Organiser Dave.

Saturday 19th July - Deathslide

Bank Holiday Swanage Trip 23-25 August


Another of our famous multi-activity trips to the Swanage area, mixture of coastering, climbing, sailing and canoeing. Come and join the fun, best way to spend the bank holiday!
 
 
 
Saturday 30th August - Longleat Mountain Biking
 
A ten mile trip through Longleat forest with some simple (and optional) technical bits. Good way to get fit and suitable for all confident bike riders. Deaprt Warminster 09:30.

Wednesday 10th September

A 5* bore, anyone can do it (anticipation is actually better than the real thing!) and we just restrict you to inflatable, sea kayak, kayak, surf board depending upon your skill. We will leave Warminster 17:00 bore run. Organiser Dave.

Saturday 12th September

A return visit to Swildons down to Sump 1/2, suitable for all with reasonable stamina. Swildons is a wet cave so you will need wetsuit and caving suit (available from WASC stores). Organiser Dave.

Saturday/Sunday 20th/21st End of season surfing

With the sea warm this is always an excellent trip, this time to the Gower, camp by the beach or caravan on the nnearby CLs.  Organiser Dave.

October 2014

Friday October 10th   – Night drop off

An evening exercise in navigation taking in the local scenrey, probably in the Salisbury plain area, bring torches and soup if it is cool. Organiser Bill

Friday 17th October Caving

A trip to one of the areas local caves, selection later in the month. Organiser Dave.

Thursday 11th December Night Bike Ride
 
An offroad session at night around the Warminster hills , will be about 8 miles/1 hour. Organiser Dave.
 
Saturday 13th December Christmas Curry

Our annual Xmas curry night bring a curry and share the various curry concotions. Venue TBC, kick off about 19:00.


Sunday 21st December River Frome Kayak

A Sunday morning trip on the river Frome, suitable for beginners and we will do the shorter version to Stowford Farm where hot showers and changing areas are available. Organiser Dave.

Monday 29th December Local Hillwalk

This will be a hillwalk - approx 6 miles in the local area. Organiser Bill. 

 

Tuesday 30th December Caving Trip

A caving trip to a local cave either begineers or Swildons depending on demand. Start about 10:00, organiser Dave.
